ABOUT AFCEA BETHESDA
AFCEA Bethesda is one of the largest chapters of AFCEA International, bringing together government, military, and industry leaders to advance innovation across federal technology, defense, cybersecurity, healthcare, and public safety. Throughout the year, the chapter hosts a series of flagship conferences, including the Health IT Summit, LEAPS (Law Enforcement & Public Safety Summit), and EIE (Energy, Infrastructure & Environment Summit), along with preview events, VIP experiences, and Emerging Leaders programming for early-career professionals. Together, these events connect thousands of attendees through keynote presentations, educational programming, networking opportunities, and industry exhibitions.
Worked closely with creative directors, account managers, designers, event planners, print vendors, and production partners to deliver production-ready assets and execute multiple large-scale conferences from concept through on-site installation.
MY ROLE
As the lead graphic designer on the AFCEA Bethesda account, I was responsible for translating each event's identity across every attendee touchpoint. Over the course of the year, I designed the branding and creative execution for 12 events, including four flagship conferences and their associated preview and VIP events.
My work included event branding, websites, email campaigns, digital marketing, social media, presentation decks, stage graphics, environmental graphics, wayfinding, motion graphics, sponsor materials, step-and-repeat backdrops, awards, signage, branded collateral, and print production, creating cohesive visual experiences across both digital and physical environments.
HEALTH IT SUMMIT
The Health IT Summit is AFCEA Bethesda's flagship conference, bringing together federal agencies, healthcare leaders, and industry partners to explore innovation in healthcare technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data governance, and digital transformation. The event features keynote speakers, educational sessions, networking opportunities, and an exhibition showcasing emerging technologies.
LEAPS SUMMIT
The Law Enforcement & Public Safety (LEAPS) Summit brings together leaders from federal, state, and local agencies alongside industry experts to explore emerging technologies, predictive threat detection, cybersecurity, data interoperability, and strategies that strengthen national security and public safety.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Designed a social media campaign promoting keynote speakers, educational sessions, sponsor spotlights, registration announcements, and event updates. The campaign translated the LEAPS visual identity into engaging digital content while maintaining a consistent brand presence leading up to the summit.
EIE SUMMIT
The Energy, Infrastructure & Environment (EIE) Summit is AFCEA Bethesda's premier conference focused on sustainability, energy resilience, and infrastructure modernization across the federal sector. The event brings together government and industry leaders for educational programming, keynote presentations, networking, and collaborative discussions on the future of federal infrastructure
